The Club will follow all government-mandated health and safety guidelines in effect on the show dates. At the time of entry, all exhibitors must agree to the health and safety requirements for this event. Anyone not complying with these added precautions will be instructed to leave without refund of any monies paid. Please bring your own face masks and sanitizer/disinfectant for your personal benching space. You may also want to bring your own protective gloves.

From TME August: For this show, COVID-19 safety precautions and health rules will be in effect; all persons entering the show hall must abide by these rules. Please read our COVID-19 page for more information. The Club will follow all government-mandated health and safety guidelines in effect on the show dates. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Age/Birthdate

To compete on both Saturday & Sunday, kittens must be 4 calendar months old — must have been born on or before July 6, 2021; to compete on Sunday only, the kitten must have been born on or before July 7, 2021.

To be allowed in the show hall, kittens must be 3 calendar months old — must have been born on or before August 6, 2021. Note: A TICA litter registration must be provided to the Entry Clerk at the time of entry. Any kitten without proof of age will not be entered in the show, nor will it be allowed in the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: CAT Health

This is a non-vetted show. Every cat that enters the show hall must conform to normally accepted health requirements and be up-to-date on its vaccinations. Front and back claws must be clipped. Cats from households with contagious or infectious illnesses within the last 21 days are ineligible for entry. Cats with suspected contagious or infectious illness or with parasites will be removed from the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Registration with TICA

For most registered breeds and household pets, registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in the cat's first show, but is required for the 2nd and subsequent shows, and for confirmation of championships and TICA regional and international awards. Contact TICA for specific registration procedures.

In order for an unregistered entry to be shown in the Kitten, Championship or Alter class, it must be eligible for registration and competition in TICA in the class in which it is to be shown. You will need to provide proof of eligibility when you enter the cat. (More info here.)

ALL Preliminary New Breeds (PNB), Advanced New Breeds (ANB) and New Traits (NT) must have a TICA registration number prior to entry in any TICA show; no Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed or New Trait may enter a show with a "pending" TICA registration.

Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Household Pets

Household Pets from 4 to 8 months old are entered in the Household Pet Kitten class and can be either altered or unaltered. Household pet kittens must be 4 calendar months (not 16 weeks) of age to be shown. To compete on both Saturday & Sunday, the kitten must have been born on or before July 6, 2021; to compete on Sunday only, the kitten must have been born on or before July 7, 2021.

All Household Pets over 8 months of age must be altered (neutered or spayed).

Please contact the entry clerk if you are not sure how to describe your cat's color, or if you have any questions about how to fill out the entry form.

Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Co-Owned Cats images\uparrow.jpg (751 bytes)

Cats co-owned by members of two different households are eligible for the multi-cat entry discounts only if a Xerox copy of the cat's TICA registration accompanies the cat's entry. The registration must show the names of both co-owners. (If you are entering such a cat online, you must fax, mail, or email a copy of the registration to the entry clerk in order to receive these discounts.)

BENCHING & CAGES

Benching Requests: Only one benching request will be allowed per exhibitor. If you list more than one request, only the first will be considered. The entry clerk will make every attempt to bench your cats per your request; however, the club does not guarantee that all benching requests can be honored due to space limitations, special COVID-19 safety precautions, and show hall configuration. Handicapped exhibitors will receive preferential and free end-of-row benching, if requested. All other end-of-row requests will be benched on a first-come, first-served, space available basis at a cost of $15.

Benching and COVID-19: Unless government COVID-19 mandates in effect on the show date require otherwise, exhibitors will be benched per normal show standards, in rows spread throughout the show hall. However, on the Summary Sheet, you may request to be benched per social-distancing guidelines (with 6' separation from others).

Cage size: The club's cages are 21" tall, 21" deep, and 45" wide (=double cage). Each has a 3" thick divider in the middle, which can be easily be moved aside to use as one large cage, or the divider can be folded out to split it into 2 cages if you need to separate multiple cats. Every 'odd numbered' entry includes a double cage space. Benching is sold in increments of double cage space only!

Personal Cages: If you plan to use your personal cage, please ensure that you will have enough space to accommodate its width. If your cage is wider than 45", you may need to purchase additional space. The maximum depth for a personal cage is 24" deep; if your cage is deeper than 24", it will not fit on our 24" deep tables.

Other Cage Requirements: The top, floor, sides, and back of the cage must be covered. Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage.

Exhibition/For Sale Cages:
Exhibition cages are standard (double) cage size (see above). You must complete an entry form for each kitten/cat on exhibition; with the exception of cats available for adoption by official rescue organizations, no cats or kittens are allowed in the show hall unless they are listed in the show catalog. No cat or kitten sales are allowed from carriers.

Other Cage Requirements

  • The top, floor, sides, and back of each benching cage must be covered.
  • Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage.

MISCELLANEOUS: Show Catalogs

One show catalog is included free with your first entry. Additional show catalogs are $5 each and must be preordered via the Summary Sheet. No catalogs will be available for sale in the show hall. The show committee accepts no responsibility for catalog errors due to illegibility or mistakes on the entry form.

MISCELLANEOUS: Ring Clerks & Ring Stewards

If you would like to clerk, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet. We will do our best to place clerks with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. (We try, whenever possible, to keep 2-day clerks in the same ring all days, as this makes it much easier to bench clerks near their rings.) Clerks will receive lunch, plus $40, for each full day of clerking. Clerks will be paid after clerking; please do not deduct clerking fees from your entry form. Preference will be given to those in the clerking program.

If you have a child who would like to steward, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet.  We will do our best to place stewards with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. Stewards who do two rings will work in contiguous rings. Stewards will receive lunch, plus $20 per ring, for each full day of stewarding.

MISCELLANEOUS: CAT Litter & CAT FOOD

Cat litter will be provided. Please bring your own cat food, food dishes and litter pans.

MISCELLANEOUS: PEOPLE FOOD

Sorry, there will NOT be a hospitality table (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks) at this show.

The hotel will have a food concession stand open in the show hall foyer for people to purchase food and drinks. All meals will be pre-packaged in individual containers and available at the hotel's food concession. Each meal will have the appropriate condiments including plastic utensils, paper napkin, and individual serving salad dressings (if applicable).

The Club will provide and deliver drinks and lunches for the judging rings (judges, ring clerks, and stewards).

Note: No outside (non-hotel) food can be brought in or consumed in the Ballroom.

MISCELLANEOUS: Liability

The Maine Event, TICA, the City of Olympia, and the contracted show hotel will not be held liable for illness, injury, loss or damage to exhibitors, cats, property of exhibitors, vendors or other such persons or property in attendance.
