OTHER INFO

IMPORTANT

By entering this show (by submitting a Summary Sheet, cat entry, or payment) you agree to abide by all health rules, all TICA rules, and all club rules. Anyone not complying with these rules will be required to leave the show without refund of any monies paid.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: FELINE Health

This is a non-vetted show. Every cat that enters the show hall must conform to normally accepted health requirements and be up-to-date on its vaccinations. Front and back claws must be clipped. Cats from households with contagious or infectious illnesses within the last 21 days are ineligible for entry. Cats with suspected contagious or infectious illness or with parasites will be removed from the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Age/Birthdate

  • To compete on both Saturday & Sunday, a kitten must be 4 calendar months old — must have been born on or before July 16, 2024.
  • To compete on Sunday only, a kitten must have been born on or before July 17, 2024.
  • To be allowed in the show hall, kittens must be 3 calendar months old — must have been born on or before August 16, 2024. Note: If the Entry Clerk requests it, a TICA litter registration must be provided at the time of entry. Any kitten without proof of age will not be entered in the show, nor will it be allowed in the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Registration with TICA

For most registered breeds and household pets, registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in the cat's first show, but is required for the 2nd and subsequent shows, and for confirmation of championships and TICA regional and international awards. Contact TICA for specific registration procedures.

In order for an unregistered entry to be shown in the Kitten, Championship or Alter class, it must be eligible for registration and competition in TICA in the class in which it is to be shown. You will need to provide proof of eligibility when you enter the cat. (More info here.)

ALL Preliminary New Breeds (PNB), Advanced New Breeds (ANB) and New Traits (NT) must have a TICA registration number prior to entry in any TICA show; no Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed or New Trait may enter a show with a "pending" TICA registration.

Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Household Pets

Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete. All Household Pets over 8 months of age must be altered (neutered or spayed). Household Pets from 4 to 8 months old are entered in the Household Pet Kitten class and can be either altered or unaltered.

Household pet kittens must be 4 calendar months (not 16 weeks) of age to compete:

  • To compete on both Saturday & Sunday, the kitten must have been born on or before July 16, 2024.
  • To compete on Sunday only, the kitten must have been born on or before July 17, 2024.

Please contact the entry clerk if you are not sure how to describe your cat's color, or if you have any questions about how to fill out the entry form.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Co-Owned Cats

Cats co-owned by members of two different households are eligible for the multi-cat entry discounts only if a Xerox copy of the cat's TICA registration accompanies the cat's entry. The registration must show the names of both co-owners. (If you are entering such a cat online, you must fax, mail, or email a copy of the registration to the entry clerk in order to receive these discounts.)

BENCHING & CAGES

Benching Requests: Only one benching request will be allowed per exhibitor. If you list more than one request, only the first will be considered. The entry clerk will make every attempt to bench your cats per your request; however, the club does not guarantee that all benching requests can be honored due to space limitations and show hall configuration. Handicapped exhibitors will receive preferential and free end-of-row benching, if requested. All other end-of-row requests will be benched on a first-come, first-served, space available basis at a cost of $15.

Cage size: The club's cages are 21" tall, 21" deep, and 45" wide (= double cage). Each has a 3" thick divider in the middle, which can be easily be moved aside to use as one large cage, or the divider can be folded out to split it into 2 cages if you need to separate multiple cats. Every "odd numbered" entry includes a double cage space. Benching is sold in increments of double cage space only!

Personal Cages: If you plan to use your personal cage, please ensure that you will have enough space to accommodate its width. If your cage is wider than 45", you may need to purchase additional space. The maximum depth for a personal cage is 24" deep; if your cage is deeper than 24", it will not fit on our 24" deep tables. If you plan to use your personal cage, please note this on the summary sheet.

Other Cage Requirements: The top, floor, sides, and back of the cage must be covered. Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage.

Exhibition/For Sale Cages:
Exhibition cages are standard (double) cage size (21" tall, 21" deep, and 45" wide).

Other Cage Requirements

  • The top, floor, sides, and back of each benching cage must be covered.
  • Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage.

MISCELLANEOUS: Show Catalogs

Hardcopy/printed show catalogs can be purchased at a cost of $10 each and must be pre-ordered and requested on the Summary Sheet. No catalogs will be available for sale in the show hall.

Should you with to print the show catalog, an electronic copy of the exhibitor show catalog is FREE and will be emailed to each exhibitor by 10 PM on the Thursday before the show.

The show committee accepts no responsibility for catalog errors due to illegibility or mistakes on the entry form.

MISCELLANEOUS: Ring Clerks & Ring Stewards

If you would like to clerk, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet. We will do our best to place clerks with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. (We try, whenever possible, to keep 2-day clerks in the same ring all days, as this makes it much easier to bench clerks near their rings.) Clerks will receive lunch, plus $40, for each full day of clerking. Clerks will be paid after clerking; please do not deduct clerking fees from your entry form. Preference will be given to those in the clerking program.

If you have a child who would like to steward, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet.  We will do our best to place stewards with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. Stewards who do two rings will work in contiguous rings. Stewards will receive lunch, plus $20 per ring, for each full day of stewarding.

MISCELLANEOUS: Food and Litter

Cat litter will be provided. Please bring your own cat food, food dishes and litter pans.

People food — Catered lunches will be available at the food & beverage stand (pre-order via our lunch form & prepay via the Summary Sheet). There will be a hospitality table for this show. You may also bring your own snacks and drinks.

MISCELLANEOUS: Liability

The Maine Event, TICA, the City of Ferndale, the Ferndale Events Center, and the contracted show hotel will not be held liable for illness, injury, loss or damage to exhibitors, cats, property of exhibitors, vendors or other such persons or property in attendance. Additionally, the entities listed above are not liable for any actions of any exhibitor, vendor, or spectator at this show.
